About the amount

Advice and free electronic thermostats rather than a payment. Income must fall under the published thresholds, and households that used the program within the last five years are not eligible again.

What to know

Seasonal, running 1 October to 31 March each year, and open to tenants as well as owners. An advisor visits, gives tailored advice and can install electronic thermostats for free. The visit also acts as a referral route into Hydro-Quebec's no-cost heat pump stream, so it is often worth booking first even if a heat pump is what you are really after. You cannot use it twice within five years.
