What we collect, and what we don't
Last updated: 6 September 2026
What we never ask for
CashRadar will never ask for your Social Insurance Number, banking credentials, government account passwords, or copies of identity documents. No legitimate program matching service needs them, and if anything claiming to be CashRadar asks you for one, it is not us.
What we collect
- Your scan answers. Province, housing status, household composition, employment, and, only if you choose to provide them, an age range, an income range, and circumstances such as disability or veteran status. Income and age are stored as ranges, never exact figures.
- Your email address, if you create an account or make a purchase.
- Funnel analytics. Which steps of the product you reached, never the answers you gave. Our analytics layer drops any field that isn't on an explicit allowlist.
- Payment records. Processed by Stripe. We store a customer and subscription identifier so we know what you're entitled to. We never see or store your card details.
Voluntary questions
Some questions relate to disability, Indigenous identity, veteran status, or newcomer status. These are asked only because specific programs exist for those circumstances, they are always optional, they are never pre-selected, and skipping them does not stop the scan. They are used solely to match you to programs and are never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
How your results are protected
An anonymous scan is reachable only through a results link containing a random, unguessable token. Results pages are excluded from search engines. Sharing your result shares only a count and a link to our homepage, never your answers or which programs matched you.
How long we keep it
- Anonymous scans not linked to an account: retained for 12 months, then deleted.
- Account data: retained while your account is open.
- Purchase records: retained as long as required for tax and accounting obligations, even after account deletion.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from your dashboard at any time. Deletion removes your profile, scans, saved programs, and checklists. You can also email hello@cashradar.ca and we'll handle it.
Who we share with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of processors to run the service: a database host, a payment processor, and an email provider. We do not share your eligibility answers with any government body, applying is something you do directly.
Independence
CashRadar is an independent service and is not affiliated with the Government of Canada or any provincial government.
