About the amount
Rebates on heat pumps, insulation and related upgrades. Household income limits rise with household size: $37,260 for one person, $77,050 for two, $98,900 for three, $120,750 for four and $126,500 for five or more, measured as line 236 minus line 435 on your Notice of Assessment. The home must be your primary residence and heated mainly by something other than electricity, a wood stove does not count as primary heat.
What to know
Efficiency Nova Scotia's main income-tested rebate for owner-occupied homes heated with oil, propane or wood. Now the principal route for Nova Scotians since the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program closed to new applicants in July 2026.
