About the amount
Amounts vary with family income, the number of children and custody arrangements, and are indexed annually. Retraite Quebec publishes the current table; check it rather than relying on a figure quoted elsewhere.
What to know
Quebec runs a provincial child benefit in addition to the federal one, which is a common thing for families to miss because most national guides only mention the CCB. Payment is automatic once a birth is registered with the Directeur de l'etat civil, so for most families there is nothing to apply for, but people arriving from another province do have to apply.
