About the amount
Up to $1,123.17 a month if you are single, divorced or widowed with an annual income under $22,800. If your spouse or common-law partner receives the full OAS pension, up to $676.09 a month each with combined income under $30,096; the threshold is $42,144 where your partner receives the Allowance. You must already receive Old Age Security.
What to know
Paid on top of the OAS pension to people 65 and over. Service Canada enrols most people automatically and writes to tell them; if no letter arrives about a month after your 64th birthday, you may need to apply. You must file a tax return every year to keep the payments coming.
